Mermaid Nails

This is another mani from the vault that I never posted. I went through a lot of pictures and I ended up deleting quite a few manis due to the fact that they were pretty old and clean up wasn't that great, therefore I decided it was best to just delete them. One that made it to see the light of day is my first try at mermaid nails.

I started out with 2 coats of Orly "Halley's Comet"

"Halley's Comet" went on smooth and was very opaque. I just love this polish. It really makes me think of a mermaid!

I then used Sinful Colors "Nail Junkie" on the top 2/3rd's of the nail.

"Nail Junkie" is a wonderful teal colored jelly polish packed with different size and shades of blue and gold glitters.

I wanted to add a little more gold to my nails so I added a very thin layer of Spoiled "Pirate's Booty" to the entire nail.

To make this actually look like a mermaid, I stamped over the nails with a basic silver polish using Mash stamping plate #39.

I really like how this turned out... even though the stamping isn't perfect, but that is my fault, not the plate or polishes fault :)

In the end I am very happy with the end result, but I do plan on trying this one again.

What do you think? Have you tried doing mermaid nails?

Thanks so much for reading. Please keep an eye out for my up coming giveaway. I just want to share  some of my current favorite things. Have a great day!!!

Ahoy! I'm Scattered & Tattered!!!

I know I've been MIA lately and I apologize. A little over 2 months ago I started dating a really awesome and wonderful guy so I haven't had a lot of down time. I decided to go through some of the old photos I had saved that never got posted. Since this is an old mani please excuse the the not so great clean up.

First up is this pretty mani:

So pretty right?? Here's how it came to life!!

I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze "Ahoy!" which is a deep magenta jelly polish with a gold shimmer. I'm normally not a fan of pink, but I love it when it's pink nail polish lol. It's really weird, but it works :)

I wish I could have gotten a better picture of the shimmer, but trust me, it's really pretty.

I then added 2 coats of China Glaze "Scattered & Tattered"

This was apart of the Glitz Bitz 'N Pieces Collection. This polish is made up of various red and black glitters in a clear base

I really love Glitz Bitz 'N Pieces polishes, which is why I bought the whole collection lol. These are awesome layering polishes

Well that's it for today. I am going to try and post again soon, but since it is a holiday weekend I can't promise lol. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!!!

Kiss My Sass Cosmetics Review

So first off I know I've been busy for awhile and I haven't been around. I've been going through a lot of changes in my life and have been working on getting things in order and get into a new swing. Today I have a review post for you. I purchased the items at a discount rate for the purpose of  review. The company is Kiss My Sass Cosmetics. I bought a review pack that included 10 samples of my choice. I also bought a few other samples.

First I am going to show you the eye shadows I got. All shadows are swatched over the "Ivory" Matte Eye Primer from Kiss my Sass. I also got a sample of the "White" primer. I like these because they are smooth and creamy.

All pictures of swatches are Left over primer and Right no primer.

First up is Minx

Minx is described as:  light tan/beige with shimmer that shifts between pink & green

Naughty Dog is described as: vivid blue with pink/magenta sparkles. This is one of my favorites of the bunch.

Poison Ivy is described as: grass green with a gold and copper sheen

The shimmer in this shadow is very noticeable.

Purple Poppymagenta/purple with matching shimmer

Shady is a: light to medium brown/taupe with turquoise/blue/purple color shifting shimmer/sheen

Sleepy Hollow is described as: charcoal gray with a copper sheen

Tattoo Shop is: a black base with an extreme amount of blue & purple sparkles (best applied over a sticky base in a "patting" motion; if you blend too much you will be left with just the black base)

Tea Rose is a: peachy pink with golden shimmer

Vegas is a: bright sparkling gold

This one is my favorite of the bunch and I just love it so much!
Broken Hearted is described as a: intense pinky-red with gold shimmer

 So beautiful!

This was a free gift with purchase that was included in my order. Oceanside Sunset is not for sale on the site, but I thought it was pretty enough to include in this post. I'm not totally sure how to describe it  but it is a very nice color.

This was included in my order as a gift too. I don't use blush at all, but I wanted to swatch it since I know there are a lot of girls that use it so I wanted you to see what it looks like :)
Cotton Candy is a: a vibrant pink with minimal shimmer

Last up is a lip glaze called Trophy Wife is described as a: clear to sheer white with gold sparkles It also has a marshmallow flavor which is awesome.

So all in all I like everything I got. The shadows are beautiful and applied great, but they are better when used over a primer to make them look their best. If your looking for some great products you should really check out Kiss My Sass Cosmetics!!!

Thanks for reading and I hope to be getting posts up more often. I also am putting together a giveaway that I hope to have up soon. Have a great day!!

It's been awhile, but I'm still here!

I've been busy this last month or so. I got out of a bad relationship. I got in a car accident and had my car totaled. I met a great new guy who is better and nicer then anything I could have ever imagined. I just got a new vehicle. It's nothing awesome but I like it. So with all that I have a little down time so I thought I would get a quick post up. Oh and I can tell I really like the new guy because I haven't done my nails a lot lately. My last polish stayed on for over a week!!! lol that's like forever. But I'm not complaining :) Oh to the polish...

I started out with a bast of China Glaze "White on White" I really don't care for this white. I have yet to find a white that I really like that has a good formula. I feel like "White on White'" is kind of a chalky formula, but I just went with it. I then used China Glaze "Gothic Lolita" to sponge over the top halves of my nails.

Base 2 coats of China Glaze "White on White"

Sponged China Glaze "Gothic Lolita" Such a wonderful polish. I love everything about it.

I decided to top the gradient with China Glaze "Bling It On" which is part of a recent collection that I love. I love glitter toppers :)

This is the purple of the collection.

I think they look great and I love how they turned out!

Well that's it for today. Sorry about not really being around. I hope that as I get into the swing of a new relationship that I will start posting more again. I hope you enjoyed this post. Take care and keep reading :)
